Mexicali is one of those places that one can't resist. Lively and inviting, this city-capital located in the Mexican state of Baja California is quite possible among the most successful modern hybrid societies of our times. Mexicali stands side-by-side with America's version of Mexicali, Calexico, and the two places are separated only by the Mexico-American border. Furthermore, this particular territory of Mexico is quite close to the international borders. For these reasons, it is then not surprising that Mexicali has developed a population that is so mixed that there is a massive integration of cultural influence spanning the east, west, north and south. This uniqueness makes it a popular venue for weekend tourists as well as businessmen, prompting the necessity for places like the Motel Liz.
The Motel Liz is located a kilometer and a half into the San Felipe Highway (the highway leading up to San Felipe) of Mexicali Baja California Mexico. Because this area is located at the south of the city-municipality where there are far less of the standard attractions, some think that staying at the Motel Liz is not a very good idea. However, this does not mean that there is nothing to see or do close to the Motel Liz. For example, it is on the highway where the Motel Liz stands that the city's popular eighteen-hole golf course sprawls – businessmen and families alike can enjoy this place for the right price and reservation. The San Felipe Highway is also pretty close to the San Luis Highway, connecting guests of the Motel Liz to a huge area littered with very interesting industrial parks where many items can be bought in bulk (electronics tend to be popular), for a very cheap price.
The San Felipe Highway, on which the Motel Liz stands, also merges into Benito Juarez Boulevard, which has a rather large shopping center and area (not to mention a Home Depot!), as well as a historical monument to Rodolfo Sanchez Taboada. Benito Juarez Boulevard in turn connects guests of the Motel Liz to Lopez Mateos Boulevard, along which the Plaza Mandarin, one of Mexicali's oldest commercial centers (home to Ley Plaza Mandarin supermarket and a number of offices) and the popular Calafia Plaza (where the famous bullfighting arena stands with a myriad of restaurants, shops, bars and clubs). Closer to the Motel Liz is the intersecting road that is Lazaro Cardenas Boulevard, wherein people staying in the hotel can find the Bosque y Zoologico (Forest and Park in English), quite possibly one of the most beautiful (not to mention educational) spots in Mexicali.
The Motel Liz is ranked as a two-star hotel with an unspecified number of rooms open for accommodation. Each room is equipped with decent bathroom facilities, airconditioning, heating, a satellite color television, and a telephone. Each room also has a designated parking space, and the Motel Liz ensures its guests calm and comfortable surroundings with its ambient music and jacuzzi.
Rates for reservations in the Motel Liz are, unfortunately, unlisted. In order to find out how much the breakdown of expenses will be, it is best to call the Motel Liz via the following numbers: 011-52 (686) 561-8669 and 011-52 (686) 561-8330.
